The AMP-0040 is the Glentek AC brushless amplifier used on Fadal VMCs running 8192 line motors. One card per axis, X, Y, Z, A, or B. When an axis stalls, chatters, or won't hold position, this is the amplifier most likely at fault. This is the original analog OEM card; a fully digital drop-in replacement is also available as the AMP-0040C.

Overload Protection

Current and temperature sensors built in. Folds back to continuous output after 3 seconds at peak rather than shutting down outright.

Fault Codes ▼

Fault Code 1

"No motor feedback" — appears on power up if no motor feedback (resolver or encoder) or no motor motion is detected by the axis controller.

Fault Code 18

"Servo amplifier fault line down" — the axis card no longer detects the fault line signal from the amplifier, or the signal strength drops below 10V. Check the amplifier's front-panel FAULT LED first.
