Fadal ATC Tool Orientation Key — ATC-0032

The ATC-0032 is the tool orientation key that seats into the Tool Carrier (ATC-0009) and prevents tool holders from rotating while stored in the carousel. Without it, tools can shift position between index cycles — causing misalignment at the spindle and failed tool changes.

It's a small part. When it's missing or worn, the ATC becomes unreliable fast.

Function

The key engages a keyslot on the tool holder shank to lock rotational position. During an M6 tool change, the ATC relies on precise tool orientation to align the holder with the spindle taper correctly. A worn or missing orientation key is a common root cause of tool change faults and dropped tools — and frequently overlooked during ATC troubleshooting.
