Calmotion CALAMP-5 — Universal Fadal Spindle Drive Replacement

The CALAMP-5 is a universal AC servo spindle drive engineered by Calmotion as a direct replacement for any 40-taper spindle drive used in Fadal vertical machining centers. A single selector switch configures the drive for your specific machine — no rewiring, no custom programming required.

Replaces: CALAMP-7 · CALAMP-13 · All legacy 40-taper Fadal spindle drives

• 7,500 RPM spindle
• 10,000 RPM spindle
• 15,000 RPM spindle
• Mechanical hi/low gear configurations
• Wye/delta motor winding configurations

• Selector switch configuration for HP, RPM, motor winding, and encoder type
• Flux vector DSP technology — maintains constant 90° phase shift between flux and torque vectors for servo motor-like performance
• Feedback display for real-time spindle drive status and motor RPM monitoring
• Potentiometer balance adjustment — critical for proper rigid tap operation
